Beltronics Vector 995 Radar Laser Detector Review

The radar detector industry is full of newcomers but Beltronics is not one of them. They have been making some of the best radar and laser detectors on the market for a long time. Showing no sign of quitting, they now offer the 995. At the top of Beltronics’ line, the 995 offers superior long range coverage and off-axis protection from lasers. Perhaps the most desirable feature of the 995 is its price. At $299.95 it may well be one of the best bargains in the business.

While the Beltronics 995 is comparable to or better than most other radar detectors, it does offer some unique features. When it is desired that the audible alarm not be heard, the SmartPlug power cord contains a mute button which enables the driver to silence the alarm without reaching up to the windshield mounted unit. Its digital signal processing and advanced AutoScan features virtually eliminate false alarms while extending the range of the unit. When the audible alarm is muted the driver will find that the ultra bright high definition display makes the situation crystal clear. When used at night the display can be dimmed so as not to distract from the duties of driving.

This is the perfect detector for the serious driver. It combines sensitivity and outstanding protection with convenience and ease of use. The additional voice alarm feature leaves no doubt as to what is happening, enabling the driver to react quickly and decisively even on crowded urban highways. It is an exceptionally good choice for the long-haul trucker. Mounted high up in the cab of a big rig, the 955 can almost see over the horizon. It is also equipped the capability to display Safety Radar Messages warning of trouble ahead. Just one of these messages, received in a timely fashion, can save the driver a lot of trouble.
