The name Escort has been synonymous with radar detection units for 20 years. The Escor Passport SR7 Radar Laser Detector is one of Escort’s newest remote models. The components of the SR7 are the front antenna for radar detection only, the Laser detector, which is mounted on the front license plate (custom installed so that it is hidden), and a rear mounted laser detection unit. A display module is installed inside the car and it is controlled with a remote mute button. The cost of the SR7 is $1099.95 and can run higher since it should be professionally installed in order for the 1-year warranty to be honored. This price does not include installation. The Passport SR7 unit has filter modes that can be set for Highway or City driving. You can also set the mode to “AutoSensitivity”, so that whether you are in the city or on the highway, you get the larges detection range possible. If you are looking for quality and effectiveness, this unit is well worth the high price tag. Keep in mind, if ordering on-line, radar detectors cannot be shipped to Washington D.C. or Virginia.
